Evergreen Dispatch Service
Due to various issues with Jeffco Dispatch, the decision was made by FFPD to transition dispatch services in early 2014 to Evergreen Dispatch. This decision was also backed up by a 2013 Audit done for the Jefferson County Emergency Communications Authority (JCECA), which also recommended that all mountain fire departments should eventually transition to Evergreen’s dispatching system.
Board members involved in the discussions with JCECA were successful in procuring funding from the 911 Commission to enable all the mountain departments to switch together. Funding was approved for a 5-year transition period of declining coverage. (i.e. 100%-Year 1, 75%-Year 2, 50%-Year 3, etc.)
